LANXESS TALENT AWARD for Can Aran
Halil Can Aran won the LanXess Talent Award in the category of “Process Innovations”.
This newly established award is given by Lanxess Germany GmbH, Leverkusen, to outstanding young scientists in the early stages of their academic career. The award was handed in the DWI/RWTH-Aachen Summer School, organized in Aachen on 11th/12th of June 2012.

For this summer school, professors from Germany and neighboring countries were invited to nominate their young scientists in the fields of polymer chemistry and chemical engineering. The final was held in Aachen during the Summer School. Out of 30 applications, 10 were selected for the final.
In “Process Innovations” category, Can Aran was rewarded for his work on Porous Ceramic and Metallic Microreactors. In the category of “Advances in Polymer Chemistry” Thomas Paulöhrl was selected for the first place with his work on Site-specific Functionalization of Highly Regular 3D Microstructures via Photo-triggered Click Chemistry.
