Kinetics and Catalysis (134506)

General kinetics, empirical and mechanistic aspects including the transition-state-theory, is subject of the first part of this course. In the second part, various important elements of heterogeneous catalysis are discussed, including: adsorption and desorption, catalytic reactions on solid catalysts, mass transfer, catalyst preparation and characterization. At the end of the course two cases are dealt with to apply obtained knowledge on practical situations from industry and to obtain insight in the possibilities and limitations for technical processes.
