New transient operated liquid phase reactor

Dejan Radivojevic developed and demonstrated a new transient operated liquid phase reactor, enabling titration of surface species via pulse sequences as well as step change experiments. Specific detectors, for continuously measuring the composition of the liquid leaving the reactor, as well as specific structured reactors were developed for this purpose. A striking result thus obtained was that pulse experiments revealed that hydrogen dissolved in water fysisorbs on hydrogen-covered Pt catalyst, whereas oxygen dissolved in water does not interact at all with oxygen covered Pt catalyst.
