The Iranian New Year Festival (Norouz): 20 March

On Wednesday 20 March, the Iranian Network at the University of Twente (IrNUT) is hosting an event to celebrate the arrival of Spring and the Iranian New Year. A special day which they would like to share with their friends, colleagues, classmates, and teachers at the University of Twente.

The Iranian New Year Festival (Norouz) is one of the oldest festivals celebrated in history of mankind. It marks the beginning of the new Iranian Year. The exact time of Norouz is when the season changes from Winter to Spring on the Vernal Equinox.

This time, the Iranian new year starts at 12:02 PM on 20 March, and the celebrations will take place at the Bastille from 11:00 to 13:00 o’clock. In addition to celebrating the Iranian New Year, you will have the chance to get more familiar with Iran, its history and culture.
