25 January - 15 April: 'Danielle Spoelman: DrawSenses' [Solo exhibition]

The title DrawSenses is a mix of ‘Drawing’ and ‘Senses’. Sense and nonsense, emotion and ratio. Danielle Spoelman: “By drawing I explore the reality. In the Spiegel I show a couple of threedimensional drawings, a sort of viewboxes. What happens in our body when we see or hear something? And especially, what happens in our mind?

A central theme in my work is ‘being comfortably numb’: how do you want to live your life? Open, touchable or easy but hidden? Contact versus loneliness. Comfort versus pain. Life versus sleep. What is true and what isn’t?
