Dutch for Exchange Students

Aim

In this brief, intensive course, students will acquire a practical knowledge of Dutch, leading them to CEF-level A1 approximately.

The course is for exchange students only (such as Erasmus/Socrates students) who speak little or no Dutch.

Content

·	Dutch grammar and conventions

·	Basic vocabulary

·	Speaking about everyday situations

Organisation

The lessons consist of group tuition. Extra attention is paid to practical conversation skills.

Admission criteria

Only exchange students who have registered their interest in a Dutch language course with International Office are admissible to the course. Students who attend 80% of the lessons and pass the final test receive a certificate of participation. Students can use this certificate to claim 0,5 ECTS at their home university.

Study load

Attendance at every lesson is essential. The course consists of five lessons of two hours each, with one session per week. Homework is expected to take approximately two hours per lesson. The course's study load is equivalent to 0,5 ECTS.
