P-NUT offers you the opportunity to mingle with other PhDs and older PhDs will share their experiences with good and bad. All this during a get-together in a friendly environment. Do you know what the benefits of the
Optional Model for UT employees are? As a PhD candidate,
you can apply online for a tax-free allowance via the
optional model in 2013 (you can obtain a bicycle, a refund
on your commuting costs, extra holidays or trade unused
holidays for money).
We have organized a lunch meeting on the topic, so that you know all about your options, can make the best out of your unused holidays and pay less tax. During the lunch meeting, Ireen Miessen, HR personnel on Optional Model, will go through the web application, explaining each step and its significance. Details: |

4 years of hard work and you have the
text ready for your thesis but the first thing people
notice is the thesis cover! Whether you are just beginning
or about to finish, you might be interested in how to
design the cover.
PNUT is organising an InDesign workshop this month and representatives from the company Gildeprint will be present to share their expertise. If you are interested then please register for the workshop. You’ll need to bring your laptop with Adobe InDesign (30 day trial version from Adobe site or can be purchased from surfspot for 19 Euro). After the mind-blowing February, let's start the wonderful March with a terrific cocktail besides the exploration of the new possibilities in our PhD space. Before you can experiment on this new frontier we offer you the possibility of participating in a cocktail workshop. During the cocktail workshop we will throw bottles and shakers like Tom Cruise in the movie Cocktail. The workshop will take 1,5 hours and you will make 6 different cocktails to taste, that's around 2 big cocktails. You will have the possibility of making your own cocktails and learning the basic tricks of the trade. Register early to avoid disappointment!
