Description of current work:

I joined the Strategic Research Orientation NanoElectronics in MESA+ Research Institute as a PhD Researcher since October, 2007. My current project focus on the preparation and characterization of magnetic nanoparticles. The magnetic-crystalline anisotropy of FePt nanoparticles is as high as 108 ergs/cc. This large crystalline anisotropy allow the thermally stable grain diameter down to 2.8nm. A self-organized magnetic array of FePt nanoparticles will contribute to an effort design a magnetic medium capable of recording potential of the 1 Tb/in2. These magnetic nanoparticles are the potential candidate for ultrahigh density recording media. In the PhD project the switching behavior of these magnetic nanoparticles under magnetic field will be studied. Multiple techniques especially cryogenic electromagnetic measurement  will be involved to achieve this goal.
