NEW: UT IN THE MEDIA AWARD
In January 2012 the Press Relations department of the University of Twente launches its Media Award. A whole year long, the department will follow the media appearances and coverage of UT scientists on radio, TV, and in newspapers and magazines. Staff and students are invited to let us know about all their appearances and coverage in the media during the year.
UT in the Media Award
What does it mean, the UT in the Media Award? From January 2012, the Press Relations department of the UT will keep a list of scientists who pass on their contributions in the media. Each time a UT staff member or student is covered in the news (newspapers, radio, TV, magazines, internet), he or she will receive (weighted) credits. The media coverage will subsequently appear in the UT News mail, the faculty newsletters, faculty websites, in the alumni newsletter and on Twitter and LinkedIN.
The UT in Media Award promotes that the public is more closely and more frequently informed of the results of scientific research. Those hitting the media charts in 2012 will be put in the limelight after a year. We ask all of you (academic staff, and (PhD) students) to email your media appearance or coverage to: mediaAward@utwente.nl. Please attach any proof of the coverage (a link or pdf-file). We are currently working on a special website to upload your contributions.
As soon as the website www.utwente.nl/mediaAward goes live, we will inform you in this newsletter.
Do you have any interesting news, but do not know how to bring this to the public’s attention via the media? You can contact the Press Relations department of M&C (persrelaties@utwente.nl).
We are looking forward to receiving your contributions!
