28 sep 2011 - MESA+ meeting 2011
On Tuesday September 27, 2011 the annual MESA+ meeting took place in the Grolsch Veste in Enschede.
There were lectures of three internationally renowned scientists, Prof. Lydéric Bocquet (University of Lyon, France), Prof. Nader Engheta (University of Pennsylvania, USA) and Prof. Daniel J. Müller (ETH Zürich, Switzerland).
There were also parallel sessions on the topics Applied NanoPhotonics, Nanotechnology for Innovative Medicine, NanoMaterials for Energy and Enabling Technologies.
Besides this there were poster sessions where our PhDs and research groups could present their scientific work. This year René Heimbuch (Physics of Interfaces and Nanomaterials) won the 1st prize for the best poster. The 2nd prize was won by Shuo Kang (NanoIonics) and the 3rd prize by Carmen Stoffelen (Molecular NanoFabrication).
After the meeting the thriller ‘Het talent van Twente’ of Claus Brockhaus (in which MESA+ NanoLab and the university plays a role) was presented and also Stefany June on which the main character is based on incl. her band gave a great performance.
We look back on a fruitful and social event.
