Using the NanoLab facilities at MESA+

Priorities and reservations

Three categories of NanoLab NL users are distinguished:

1.

Users from the own institution (including externally financed users,

such as from STW, FOM, NWO, CW, NanoNed, MicroNed, etc.)

2.

Users from other institutions participating in NanoNed or MicroNed

3.

Other users

In case of waiting times for NanoLab NL equipment, priorities are determined according to the following rules:

·

1st. Users from all categories have equal rights for access to facilities or equipment.

·

2nd. In case of capacity limits the local head of NanoLab for a given institution will decide. In this case users from categories 1 and 2 will get access first.

·

3rd. Regulations with respect to facility use are strictly according to the local procedures (e.g. for intake, reservation of equipment, etc. etc.) at a given institution.

Cleanroom access

Users from category 1 and 2 (staff, PhD students etc.) can be granted access to the Cleanroom. A justifying restriction is that the access is needed for a certain period in order to justify the training effort involved. Companies can be granted access to the Cleanroom once a standard contract has been signed which covers the access rights.

When you are registered as Cleanroom user, you can use the apparatus which are available in the clean room

Processing in the clean room

After filling in the registration forms, several courses have to be followed before entrance is granted: safety course, introduction course and MTE workshop.

Access will be granted after completing these courses; specific equipment training follows upon specific needs.

Special equipment in- and outside the clean room

Specific machines which need supervising by a researcher or technician, meet special agreements. These agreements have to be made with the supervisor of the machine, and there is a special tariff for this equipment.

Users are obliged to strictly follow the indications from the local facility responsible or deputy. Violation in this context may result in the user no longer being allowed access to the facility.

The Nanolab NL parties nor the corresponding institutions will accept any responsibility for damage, directly or indirectly related to using the NanoLab NL facilities at the given institution.
