Rules of engagement
This meeting is a forum, a discussion meeting. The objective is to discuss ongoing research in the field of bionanotechnology and exchange ideas and concept among the different participants. In order to reach this goal efficiently, please have a look at the rules of engagement:
For the speakers:
- |
Prepare a presentation on ongoing research that you are involved in. Ongoing research is usually unpublished work, which automatically is more likely to create discussion |
- |
Make sure your presentation is accessible for the audience. The participants in this meeting have a very diverse background. |
- |
Be ready to answer questions during the talk. Considering the diverse background, you can expect questions of more fundamental nature (than for example in a specialized conference contribution). |
For the audience:
- |
Participate actively in the discussions |
- |
Ask questions, if you have them. Do not save them till the end, but ask them. |
- |
Do not feel embarrassed asking (to your opinion) fundamental questions. What might be obvious for one person, can be completely new for the other. The audience is very diverse and it is important that they start understanding each other and each other’s research. So please just ask. |
