Twente Kennispark

One of the aims of the Kennispark is to attract businesses that form an important addition to the region. The physical core area of the Twente Kennispark (i.e. the University of Twente campus and the adjacent Business & Science Park) plays an important role in the overall business and commercial climate.

The Business & Science Park has a unique location directly opposite the University of Twente. It is the leading location for high-tech companies and ICT service providers wishing to establish research contacts with the university or use the campus facilities. The good access (from the A1 and A35 motorways) and excellent facilities in the immediate area mean that the Business & Science Park is an especially attractive location for businesses.

Development company Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij Oost NV is responsible for attracting businesses to the Kennispark.

MESA+ Tech Park

The MESA+ Tech Park is the result of the entrepreneurial spirit that surrounded the MESA+ Institute from its start in 1989. Since then more than 25 companies spun out of the Institute or chose to establish themselves next to our institute and its central laboratories.

Over the years a vital cluster of economic activities has grown, based on a number of facilities offered and measures taken. These measures include mutual cooperation in facilities and equipment, active business development, VC contacts and industry-targeted laboratories and offices. New cooperation modes are pursued continuously, leading to tailored participations and a so-called Technology Accelerator enterprise.

At the MESA+ Tech Park you will find all essential elements for cooperative innovation: the Institute as a source of new ideas and a partner in research at the micro and/or nano scale. The cleanroom and analysis laboratories for your research, prototyping and production. Enabling companies to help you transform your ideas into producible small tech applications. Venture Capital and R&D funds. A supportive local government and an entrepreneurial spirit shared by all of the above.

BTC Twente

BTC-Twente is a business incubator situated at the Business & Science Park Enschede. It is an incubator center with a target group of knowledge-intensive enterprises and enterprises that specialize in high-tech or high-quality business services.

In terms of facilities, BTC-Twente provides inexpensive and flexible space; from a single 12 m² office to a 180 m² unit for small-scale manufacturing. Furthermore, BTC offers a wide array of essential business support services that include reception, telephone answering, secretarial services, management consulting, technology marketing and many other “big business” resources to match small business budgets. Price and quality of services are therefore entirely in perspective with the needs of pioneer companies.

As a result of providing highly integrated business development facilities and services, a ‘hassle-free’ environment is created, whereby entrepreneurs can focus on their core business - the successful development of their product(s) or market(s).

Offices are provided with carpeting and lighting, and the size of the office can vary from 12 up to 300 m². Besides office space BTC-Twente also offers production space.

Facilities

For your groundbreaking small tech innovative efforts the MESA+ Tech Park offers a range of facilities. You can make use of the fully equipped 1200 m Nanolab facilities, supported by our professional staff. There is also cleanroom space available for rent, to house your own dedicated equipment. Analysis of your processed devices is carried out at the Central Materials Analysis labs adjacent to the cleanroom and in other specialized facilities at the campus. Office space for your business as a whole or your process-engineers is available next to the laboratories. Additional housing is found on the University Campus or at the Business & Sience Park next to it.

MESA+ Nanolab Facilities

The cleanroom is a service facility for MESA+, companies and researchers around the globe. This multi-purpose facility is used by more than 200 users. This is accommodated by a flexible setup allowing for research and small scale production.
