What are the hottest issues nowadays? Which issues made the world work together in fear of their existence? Which job markets are booming now and in the future? Obviously the answer to these questions is ‘energy’ and ‘environment’.

The above reasons inspired 5 eagerly students from Ghana, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia and Ethiopia with different educational and professional background to learn Environmental and Energy Management (MEEM) at the University of Twente. The MEEM is unique because of it’s well designed curriculum, excellent quality of lecturers, and magnificent program facilitators. The way of learning not only helps to explore our potential and inherent skills, but also enriches our knowledge and experience with all important aspects of energy and environmental management.

The programme takes place in Leeuwarden, where we share a house together. Leeuwarden is a city of serenity, gentle wind, canals, bikes and hospitality. If you live in this city, you will love strolling through old narrow walkways and along the canals, and it is often difficult to stop thinking about the visits you made in the boutiques or flower shops. But one thing may strike you when you first come – the weather. It is unpredictable, even changes in only a few minutes. In the house, you may have to share facilities with your house mates. In this way, you may also learn to share your happiness, sorrows and enjoyment with others. While biking along the canals or while having dinner altogether as in the picture, you will feel that you are part of a family. Even though the program is very demanding, we do sometimes attend a party, or visit historical places together to have fun.
