Findings of a thesis by a MEEM 11 student – to the Permanent Secretary in the Vice President’s Office, Tanzania

Ladislaus Kyaruzi, a MEEM 11 student who works for the Vice President's Office in Tanzania, researched a thesis on ‘Roles and responsibilities of government and private sector to adapt to climate change and sea level rise in Tanzania: A case study of coastal community in Dar es Salaam’.

The field work involved carrying out an extensive series of interviews with stakeholders affected by sea level rise or who would be making decisions on their behalf. On return to his office after completing the MEEM, Ladislaus was asked by the Permanent Secretary in the Vice President’s Office to prepare an executive summary of the thesis – so it is gone straight from the MEEM on to a senior policy maker’s desk.
