Bhola Shrestha from Nepal

April 2008

The MEEM course exposed me to a broad range of current topics in energy and environment management in a very interactive class and excellent pedagogical approach of very committed faculty. The fast pace of the course, its international dimension and its continuous assessment approach strengthened me to take greater challenges and did open me many doors. Soon after the course, I headed Nepal biggest and most respected private sector hydro power consulting group called BPC Hydroconsult and was able to increase its yearly turnover by many folds. And recently, a new opportunity  takes me to East Africa to Head a project of UNEP/GEF and East Africa Tea Industry Association called Greening the Tea Industry in East Africa to promote small hydro power in the tea industries in eight countries of the region. Thanks to University of Twente and the Netherlands Fellowship Programme without whose fellowship, I would not have been able to take the MEEM course and move thus far in my career.
