Background
Haico te Kulve studied “Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society” at the University of Twente. After graduation he conducted several research projects at the department of Philosophy of Science & Technology and at the science shop of the University of Twente. Subsequently he worked three years at a company which designs and assembles naval systems. In 2011 he received his PhD at the University of Twente titled: “Anticipatory interventions and the co-evolution of nanotechnology and society.” He is currently working on a project on socio-technical scenarios and strategy articulation supported by the NanoNext NL program in the Netherlands.
Socio-technical scenarios and strategy articulation
The objective of the NanoNextNL scenario project is to develop socio-technical scenarios for key themes within NanoNext such as food and water. The project will build on approaches developed within the Technology Assessment program of NanoNed. The scenario project will focus on the application of nanotechnology enabled innovations that are already applied, or are likely so in the near future. The scenarios will be used for the assessment of possible effects and impact of such applications and for the development of suggestions for strategy articulation and anticipatory governance regarding the societal embedding of these applications.
