Introduction to the FemStart project

The FemStart consortium consists of 7 organisations from different contexts that share an interest in, and a sense of urgency about, the need to inspire the debate on the importance of female scientists, in relation to the advancement of knowledge intensive entrepreneurship.

For this purpose the consortium organises a series of 6 public, national conferences in the partner countries

In 2008, 3 conferences will take place: Riga – January 17 & 18, Twente – September 24 & 25, 2008 and Bucharest – November. In 2007, three conferences were held: Stuttgart - February 14 & 15, Valencia - April 26 and 27, and Wroclaw –Poland – October 17 & 18.

Project participants are: the Steinbeis Europa Zentrum in Stuttgart (project leader) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg (Germany), the Polytechnical University Valencia (Spain), the Wroclaw University of Technology (Poland), the Banking Institution of Higher Education Riga (Latvia), the University of Agronomics and Veterinary Medicine Bucharest (Romania) and for the Netherlands it is the Dutch Institute of Knowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship, Nikos, of the University of Twente.
