Methodology Every month we from UTIPS carry out for over more than 1.000 searches with the search engine Google on known purchasing terms. For every term in the search we make a combination with at least one of the following terms: purchase, purchasing, purchased, purchaser, procurement, procure, procured, procurer, source, sourcing, sourced, buy, buying, bought, and buyer. This way we try to score as much relevant hits as possible. Our complete purchasing term list is based on our purchasing lectures at the University of Twente, (scientific) publications, and many interviews. The list is continually being updated, but if we have missed common and useful purchasing terms, please let us know. From the long list of purchasing terms we filter words with a similar meaning like purchasing, procurement, buying, sourcing etc. We only provide the most common word of such a set. Banal words like purchasing price, purchasing budget, and purchasing volume are also filtered from the list. We do not incorporate commercial companies as well. The terms that remain make a chance to be acknowledged in the top 100. Fredo Schotanus (2006). Purchasing top 100. [http://www.purchasingtop100.eu] |
