Networked Enterprises Wide Strategies (NEWS)

This project originated in 2005 when professor Salmela had a visiting position at the University of Twente. A dynamic interorganizational framework was build to evaluate SISP beyond organizational borders.

Status: Two large case studies are planned, one in Finland at the Turku municipalities that together created an information strategy. The other case study will be done in the Netherlands at all Twente healthcare organizations that together made an information strategy.

USE IT

This project started in 1999 with the Electronic Prescription System evaluation for the National Insurance organization. The interview model was refined in the Multiple Sclerose case, an assignment for the Roessingh Research Group. Then the interview model was tested in the Freeband project Telecare for the Stroke services and for the Rheumatism institute on the relevance of an electronic care guide.

Status: The USE IT model is now refined towards the RELEVANCE of information systems to end-users and a first study on this has been done in Rwanda on a Telehealth application. The second refinement will be performed on electronic patient records. A PhD student is integrating the USE IT analysis in the normal requirements study. Next to qualitative studies with the USE IT model we would like to use quantitative methods to study the diffusion of EPR’s in the Netherlands.

Principal ERP investment Decisions in ICT (PREDICT)

This project will be started in 2006 and will focus on cost benefit analysis of ICT.

On one hand the investments decisions in ICT are studied and cost estimations are made. On the other hand risk analyses and value analyses must balance the score.
