After graduating in Experimental Psychology in 1984 I joined IBM and worked as a professional in software development, artificial intelligence, database systems and expert systems.

In 1990's I established IBM's business intelligence practice and led this team for many years; after that I took responsibility for the development of the IBM Benelux technical professionals (2007-2011). At the moment I manage the IBM Rational client support team for application modelling software.

I have a special interest in professional development of IT professionals and am the leader and European chairman of IBM's IT Specialist profession board (equivalent to the Open Group ITSC professional certification program). In additional to career development of professionals I am highly interested in organizational development and process improvement, which is why I co- lead the Dutch SPIder People CMM work group.

The membership of the Advisory Board BIT is a great opportunity for me to exchange knowledge and best practices; in addition it allows me to provide input from IT departments the University and make sure that the curriculum stays well aligned with the ever changing (B)IT profile requirements.
