Symposium: EU Development Policy and the Millennium Goals in Africa - November 13, 2009

The House for Europe, in cooperation with the Center for European Studies (CES) and Partnership for Change is organizing a symposium on the 13th of November, where Annemarije Kooijman-van Dijk - CSTM's staff member - will be a guest speaker.

Symposium ' EU development policy and the millennium goals in Africa'

Naar aanleiding van de millenniumdoelen van de Verenigde Naties van het jaar 2000 en de Europese ontwikkelingssamenwerking in Afrika organiseert het Huis voor Europa Twente een symposium op vrijdag 13 November. Het symposium wordt in samenwerking met het Hengelose evenement Afrika Mon Amour, Centre for European Studies (CES) en Partnership for Change gehouden en zal plaatsvinden op de Universiteit Twente, in het Vrijhof gebouw, van 10.30-17.30.

Het symposium zal bestaan uit twee plenaire lezingen en vier workshops en een informatiemarkt, allemaal met betrekking tot Europese Ontwikkelingssamenwerking in Afrika. Gedurende de plenaire sessie zullen er twee gastsprekers spreken, mevrouw Stella Ronner- Grubacic, speciaal ambassadeur van de millenniumdoeleinden in Nederland namens het Ministerie van Buitenlandse zaken, en Dhr Paul Schildkamp van Europe Aid (Europese Commissie)

Er zijn slechts 200 plaatsen beschikbaar voor de workshops (de inhoud en sprekers hiervan worden beschreven in onderstaand opgaveformulier) en daarom is opgave van deelname noodzakelijk. Bij voldoende plaats zal een bevestiging en het programma van 13 november zo spoedig mogelijk naar u toegestuurd worden.

In line with the millennium goals set by the UN and the involvement of the European Union in various development policies in Africa, The House of Europe, in cooperation with the Centre for European Studies (CES) at the university of Twente, and Partnership for Change is organizing a symposium on the 13th of November. The symposium will be held at the University of Twente, Vrijhof building , from 10:30 till 17:30.

The symposium will be constructed out of two plenary sessions, four workshops and an information market all related to the EU-Africa development relations. During the plenary session we will have two guest speakers. Mrs. Stella Ronner- Grubacic, the special ambassador for the Millennium Goals on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Paulus M.A. Schildkamp from Europe Aid, the European Commission.

We accept and have place for 200 participants in the various workshops offered (see the registration form for further information with regards to the content of the workshops) and therefore registration is a must.
