Up-date and trend reports
Update reports
Higher education systems have become open to influences from outside the system. Describing higher education systems in a highly dynamic context therefore requires a regular updating of the information presented. The annual CHEPS Higher Education Monitor update report provides insights in the latest developments in the higher education infrastructure, higher education finance, governance and quality assurance. The issues most present in public debates and policies are identified and discussed. Information is collected from written and electronic materials as well as consultation of national experts. The presentation of this information is the main part of the update report. In the concluding section we look beyond the national level by identifying issues that are common in a number of national systems or even in most systems.

Trendreports
The collection and storage of quantitative information on higher education systems in a statistical database is a crucial part of the day-to day work at the CHEPS Higher Education Monitor. National statistical sources are used to get an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the higher education figures. A summary of the information is presented in the annual trendreports. These trendreports and the graphical presentations of the main statistical trends over the last ten years, cover the key statistical issues like student flows (new entrants, enrolment, and graduation, broken down by discipline and gender), rates of participation, staff, and finance.
