Nega Kahsay, Mulu: Systems and practices of assuring quality of education at the higher education institutions of Ethiopia: critical issues and theoretical implications
Since 2007, Mulu Nega holds an NFP grant to study the development of quality assurance systems and practices in the Higher Education Institutions of Ethiopia.
In the ‘sandwich formula’ favoured in the NFP, he visits CHEPS regularly but does his fieldwork in Ethiopia. Integrating theoretical literature on quality assurance in higher education with theories on effective steering in higher education institutions, he seeks to establish empirically, through a mixed-methods study, what makes a quality assurance system effective in an African university.
