Why University of Twente

High tech, with a human touch: the University of Twente focuses on developing technology and studying its impact on people and society. UT students are always challenged to look beyond the boundaries of their own field of study to establish links with other disciplines. This multidisciplinary approach encourages scientific and social innovation and reflects the entrepreneurial spirit of the university. Our six institutes have a world class reputation in many areas, including nanotechnology, biomedical technology, information technology, governance studies, sustainable energies and high-tech systems. As the only true campus university of the Netherlands, the UT combines housing, study and recreational facilities on a green campus providing a lively and inspiring environment for 9,500 students and 3,000 employees.

We offer MSc programmes in fields ranging from engineering and natural sciences to behavioural and management sciences. All our Master’s degree programmes lead to the title Master of Science and are accredited by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO the Dutch system for Higher Education enjoys international acclaim for its problem-based learning methods, for training students to analyze and solve practical problems independently, and for emphasizing self-study and self-discipline, preparing students for challenging careers ahead.

Location

Our university is located centrally in Europe, about halfway between the three major European capitals Paris, London and Berlin. Amsterdam is only two hours by direct train leaving Enschede central station every hour.
