Teaching in Social Sciences

This programme is taught mainly in Dutch. Students are considered for admission only if they are fluent in the Dutch language. This program prepares for a full teaching qualification in secondary education in the Netherlands.

Would you like to go into teaching after completing a Master’s in Sociology, Political Science or Public Administration? Become a Master of Teaching in Social Sciences.

The Master’s programme in Teaching in Social Sciences brings together theory and practice. One day you will be attending lectures and tutorials, the next you will be teaching under supervision at a secondary school. Not only will you acquire a wealth of knowledge but you will also learn how to transfer knowledge to your students as effectively as possible.

This small-scale Master’s programme takes a personal approach. You will receive individual supervision and there is plenty of scope for interaction. The teaching staff are always on hand to help. You will also learn a great deal from working and studying alongside fellow students of all age groups, each with their own knowledge and experience to contribute.

The programme’s perspective goes beyond the school itself and encompasses a wider view of society. It also addresses issues such as the relationship between social commitment and professional practice and matters of political preference.
