Time lapse movies about life at UT campus
An IT-student from Finland, Joni Kantonen, decided to come to the Netherlands for a year to study Computer Science at the University of Twente. He found the student life in Enschede and the UT campus to be so inspiring that he started producing time lapse video’s.
When asked why he decided to come to the Netherlands for a year to gain experience abroad, Joni refers to the Dutch soccer team: “I’ve always been a big fan of the Dutch national soccer team. The Finnish team has never even gotten into the World Cup. Also my favorite Finnish player Jari Litmanen had a successful career at Ajax and I had a lot of favorite players from the Netherlands.”
For the university, Joni was offered two options based on the contracts with his home university: he could choose between the University of Twente and the University of Delft. It was the campus area and the short distance to Germany that made him choose for the University of Twente. In Enschede, he stayed in a dormitory at the Calslaan on the UT campus. Life on the UT campus differed a lot from Joni’s home country. This made him decide to produce time lapse video’s.
Joni had a photoblog during his stay in the Netherlands. You can find it here:
