Programme structure
The MSc Nanotechnology is a 2-year programme (120 ec). In the first year you will be offered a number of specialized courses and practicals, and in the second year you will be doing a 3-month internship and your final MSc thesis assignment. |
First year master (M1)

Half of the courses in the first year (shown in red) are core modules which are compulsory. The other 30 EC in the first year allows more freedom in the choice of courses. 15 EC of this part (shown in blue) are nanotechnology modules, which need to be selected from the following set: |
The other 15 EC (shown in yellow) are elective courses, and can be selected from the large set of courses that are offered within the MSc programmes of Applied Physics, Chemical Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any other MSc programme offered. |
Second year master (M2)

In the second year you will be doing an internship (15 EC) within a company working in the field of nanotechnology or within a research group at another university or research institute, active in the field. And the remaining 45 EC you will be conducting a research project within one of the research group at the University of Twente, on a topic within the field of nanotechnology. This you will conclude with a written MSc thesis that you will defend in front of a committee and a public audience. |
