European Studies

Managing Europe is a complex challenge, which can be largely attributed to the fact that Europe consists of various dimensions that result from a complicated system of government bodies.

National structures are traditionally being replaced on an increasingly frequent basis and work carried out in an open, multi-level structure. The European Studies Master’s degree programme focuses on the complex environment in which the various levels of government come together.

Besides the normal one-year European Studies Master’s programme, students are able to choose for an unique opportunity: a special 1,5-year degree programme offered jointly by a Dutch and a German university. Lectures are held at the University of Twente and the Institute for Political Science (Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster). Students who successfully complete this programme receive a ‘Dutch-German’ diploma.
