How to improve the quality and productivity of wind turbine blades? How to predict the right shape of a mould for the production of, for example, an aircraft fuselage panel in fiber/metal laminates? How to design a light weight carbon composite suspension for a passenger car? How can the durability of high quality fiber-reinforced composite materials be predicted? How can the condition of gas and water pipe work or advanced composite structures be monitored in service? These problems typify different disciplines within this master’s degree specialization. The different disciplines share the common bond that the development of calculation and simulation models plays an increasingly important role, all of which is with a view to the (re)design.
