Admission criteria
(The details below are preliminary and subject to change) In addition to the general criteria, Health Sciences distinguishes two types of (inter)national education; 1. Research Universities (primarily responsible for research-oriented programmes) 2. Universities (college) for professional education (prepares students particular for more practical professions) Remark: an applicant with a Dutch nationality and an international degree will be assessed on the admissions requirements as mentioned under National degree. |
Do you have an international degree? |
The admissions committee assesses applicants with a Bachelor’s degree awarded by a Non-Dutch Research University or University (college) for higher professional education on an individual basis. The assessment of the applicant’s skills is based on: § a NUFFIC credential evaluation § a letter of motivation § an overall band IELTS score of at least 6.5 (see www.ielts.org) § if applicable, any additional information required by the admissions committee Remark: an applicant with a Non-Dutch nationality and a Dutch degree will be assessed on the admissions requirements as mentioned under International degree. |

2. Degree by a college for higher professional education (HBO in Dutch) |
1. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field awarded by a Dutch University (college) for higher professional education |
Students with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field awarded by a Dutch University (college, HBO) for higher professional will be admitted: § if they have successfully completed the pre-Master’s programme. The admissions committee determines the content of the domain-specific part of the pre-Master’s programme. § if you are an international student, a proficiency in the English language could be required: an overall band IELTS score of at least 6.5 (see www.ielts.org) § if their proficiency in Mathematics is at pre-university education level (Dutch: VWO or HAVO Wiskunde B) The following degrees are currently considered degrees in a related field: - Physical Fhysiotherapy (Dutch: Fysiotherapie) - Nursing (Dutch: Verpleegkunde) - Care management (Dutch: Zorgmanagement) |

Pre-Master |
The Pre-Master’s programme, for an applicant with a degree at the level of University (college) for higher professional education, comprises 30 to 60 EC: - Data Analysis (5 EC) - Research methodology (5 EC) - Design methodology (5 EC) - Concept and Observation (5 EC) - Specific Health Sciences courses (10 to 40 EC) |

Beware |
The Pre-Master programme is offered twice a year. The course language is English (starting in February) en Dutch (starting in September). When enrolling after the 1st of September, a reduction of the tuition fee can be granted. Each month 1/12 of the tuition fee is payable. After the pre-Master programme has been fully completed in July/August the student will be admitted directly to the Master programme, which starts in September (completely taught in English). If the student is admitted to the (pre-)Master programme an admission letter will be received including a pre-enrolment form. This form has to be filled in and returned to sender. |

This is entirely without obligation. You will be informed about your admission within 6 to 8 weeks. If you register well in advance (no more than 3 months before the start of the pre-master’s programme), then we will see to it that you are informed about your admission on time. See therefore the general information. Attention please!If you are a student at the Saxion Hogeschool, than it would be possible to do a pre-masterprogramme during your HBO-study.
