Health Sciences

The master Health Sciences is an innovative programme with specializations in Health Technology Assessment and Health Services and Management.

New medical-technological developments have changed our perception of optimum healthcare. An ageing population has led to an increase in the incidence of diseases such as Parkinson, Alzheimer and strokes. In the long term, we can expect a huge rise in the demand for healthcare. Moreover, patients are becoming more demanding: they are no longer prepared to sit back and wait, but are taking on the role of critical consumers. Also increasingly stringent quality requirements and amendments to legislation and regulations are now occurring in healthcare insurance systems.
All these developments have massive implications for healthcare. Which technology should be introduced and which should not? What obstacles should we expect to meet along the way? What measures are unavoidable in healthcare business operations? How can we involve patients in the decision-making processes? Finding and communicating the right solutions to all these problems is a real challenge.
