International Degree

In order to apply to one of the Master programmes of the the University of Twente the following general admission requirements apply.

Relevant bachelor’s degree

First of all a relevant bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) from a university or other accredited academic institution. If you are in the process of obtaining your Bachelor degree, you may apply for admission to an UT MSc programme. You may be conditionally admitted based on your transcripts and detailed curriculum information, relevant research and expected graduation date. You must submit your Bachelor’s degree before the start of your MSc programme (September 1 or February 1).

Language requirements

Secondly you need to meet the language requirements. A sufficient mastery of the English language can be proven by one of the following official test score documents:

·	Academic IELTS, overall band score of at least 6.5

·	TOEFL, internet based (TOEFL-iBT) of at least 90

·	Cambridge CAE-C (CPE)

Please keep in mind that we need the scores before the application deadlines as we can’t process your application without this document.

Exemptions

If you meet the following criteria you are exempted from the English language requirements:

·	You are a native English speaker from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom or United States of America.

·	You have obtained a relevant bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution in the Netherlands.

·	You have obtained a Bachelor degree (3 year) in one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom or United States of America.

Please note that if you are from an English-speaking country in Africa, you will have to take one of the approved university English tests.

Addition of Chinese nationals

Nationals of the People’s Republic of China need to obtain a NUFFIC-certificate as validation of their qualifications in addition to their English test score documents. The UT requires your NUFFIC-certificate (formally known as NESO-certificate) for your visa application. For more information please visit www.nesochina.com.
