To be a chemical engineer you need a keen, creative mind, and expertise that besides chemistry spans fields such as fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and applied mathematics.
The Master’s in Chemical Engineering (CHE) encompasses the fields of chemistry, materials science and process engineering. It puts you at the forefront of research and development in innovative chemical processes, novel materials and new products. You will benefit from our strong links with high profile research, including Mesa+, the Netherlands’ leading nanotechnology institute, and MIRA institute.
You will harness the latest technology and techniques to address the challenges that face society. Discover whether biomass conversion can provide lasting energy solutions or explore the potential of membrane technology to purify water or to generate power by osmosis. Alternatively, you can use your knowledge of biomolecules to develop new materials or work on nanomaterials to create new solar cells and alternative forms of energy storage.
You will be treated as a junior colleague from early on in your Master’s, giving presentations, writing articles and getting involved in grant applications. CHE is a highly international programme. You will write and present in English, and you will have plenty of opportunity to complete an internship abroad.
