This minor is the merger of the former theme minors "Management van Innovatie" and "Ondernemerschap (Entre­preneurship)".

Whether you are interested in big or small companies, high-tech entrepreneurship or the impact of radical innovations on society, here are many good reasons to choose this minor Maybe you want to know more about innovation and developing new markets, or even prepare for a Master track or PhD program in innovation and entrepreneurship. Or you may want to assess the feasibility of a business idea you have and develop a business plan for your own company. In any case, if you feel your personal development and future career will benefit from developing innovative and entrepreneurial competences, this Minor Innovation & Entrepreneurship is a good start.

The minor programme offers a variety of courses with a mix of teaching methods, theory and practice. Courses on high-tech market oriented entrepreneurship and on innovation management are complemented with courses on the financial management of innovative enterprise, intellectual property management and the governance of innovation from a societal perspective. The minor has extra deepening electives for students who already have a background in basic entrepreneurship, marketing and management of innovation. It is possible to take a 20 EC or a 30 EC version of this minor. On top of that, it is possible to take the 20 EC version plus one extra elective course (5 EC) if you wish to spend 25 EC on your minor.

The minor assignment is the final project course for the programme and offers a choice of ‘Becoming an Entrepreneur (develop your own business plan), Managing an SME (work with an established entrepreneur), Organising Innovation (in larger existing firms), and Technology Dynamics (strategic analysis of innovation processes related to a specific technological development).

Depending on your major, you can choose the minor course set that adds the most value to your knowledge background if you are interested in taking this minor.
