6 - Will I be able to take a minor?
To guarantee a successful minor, all participants should have a certain minimal general academic level. Therefore, you are only admitted to a minor if you meet the general requirement of at least 80 European Credits (grand total in all study phases).
· |
Unsatisfactory marks ("onvoldoendes"), which you do not need to repair according to the examination statute ("examenreglement") of your own study, do not count towards this requirement. |
· |
Waivers ("vrijstellingen") for UT-courses, obtained within or outside UT, do count towards this requirement. |
· |
The point in time at which you should meet the general requirement is during the summer holidays, including the results of all (re‑)examinations at the end of the second semester, but excluding the re-examinations in August. |
Under special circumstances, should you not meet the general requirement to enter a minor, the director of education ("opleidingsdirecteur") of your own study can grant dispensation. Generally, the director of education will take into account:
· |
that any student who does not meet the general requirement should have a fair chance to complete the minor successfully; |
· |
that the progress of the minor should not be impeded by the presence of a not (completely) qualified student; |
· |
that all students in the minor are subjected to the same tests and criteria for completing the minor, regardless whether they meet the general requirement or have entered the minor under dispensation of their director of education. |
