IGS-Center for e-Health Research and Disease Management

Here you will find information on the University’s efforts in the thriving field of eHealth, Disease Management and consumer health informatics. ‘eHealth’ refers to the use of internet technology for the benefit of health and health care, either by professionals or by patients/consumers.

Consumer health informatics has been defined as “ (…) the branch of medical informatics that analyses consumers’ needs for information; studies and implements methods of making information accessible to consumers; and models and integrates consumers’ preferences into medical information systems" (Eysenbach 2000; 2005).

We are a group of lecturers, researchers and PhD-students based at the Institute for Behavioral Research, Faculty of Behavioral sciences. The aim of the center is to perform and promote high-class multidisciplinary research

·	To provide excellent education (undergraduates, graduates and PhD-students) and

·	To produce first-rate external services.

The perspective of the user (patient, consumer, citizen) is central to our work. The center for eHealth Research and Disease Management is a place for development and evaluation of interventions aimed at Disease Management and lifestyle improvement.

eHealth master voor zorgprofessionals

2011 is het jaar dat in het teken staat van innovatie in de zorg. Zeker gezien de bezuinigingsplannen van het kabinet zullen professionals gestimuleerd worden om efficiënter en effectiever om te gaan met hun tijd en hun budget. Een uitkomst hierbij is eHealth. Het gebruik van eHealth biedt de mogelijkheid om modern te communiceren, ook in bestaande trajecten in de zorg.

Daarom is de eHealth Academy opgericht, een initiatief van Chiel Bos samen met Alares en vele experts.

De eHealth Academy is bestemd voor zorgprofessionals. Dit betekent dat u van verschillende experts op het gebied van eHealth te horen krijgt wat de ins en outs zijn van eHealth. Daarmee kunt u  stappen zetten om eHealth te concretiseren voor uw eigen praktijk en uw eigen omgeving.

In 2011 wordt meerdere keren een eendaagse Masterclass eHealth georganiseerd. Tijdens deze eendaagse Masterclass komen thema’s aan bod als zorg op afstand, sociale innovatie en gezondheid2.0. Daarnaast zijn er workshops waar u praktisch aan de slag kunt, knelpunten signaleert en samen werkt aan oplossingen.
