DataLab
IGS is on the forefront within her research areas. The use of modern and sophisticated methods of research is necessary to maintain this position in the long run. Innovations in research, new methods or insides should therefore actively be incorporated by her researchers. Especially the fast development in information technology challenge researchers in their work. Not only allow new IT tools more complex analyses, the scope and availability of Data is rapidly changing. Examples are the use of geo-information and data from real time information grids.
In this context DataLab sets out to improve IGS research by creating access to Data, Software (Tools) and Hardware for Qualitative and Quantitative research within a “safe” context. IGS research is done according to high ethical standards and should comply to government regulation for handling Data. DataLab provides in this not only the infrastructure but also helps to create and maintain the organizational prerequisites for professional and responsible research on Data.
