Véronique Faber

Véronique Faber has been working as microfinance expert and project coordinator for ADA (Appui au Développement Autonome) in Luxembourg since 2004. She is currently coordinating the secretariat of the Microinsurance Network, a knowledge platform for microinsurance experts, and is involved in the performance indicators for microinsurance initiative. Ms. Faber holds a masters degree in ethnology and African studies from the University of Vienna, Austria, and a higher diploma in cultural management from the University College Dublin, Ireland.

Marleen Dekker

Marleen Dekker is a development economist and human geographer and works as a senior researcher at the African Studies Centre in Leiden, The Netherlands. Her work focuses on the interrelations between risk and poverty and the role of informal and formal insurance in protecting individuals and households against shocks. She is currently involved in impact evaluations of community based health insurance initiatives in Togo and Ethiopia that include questions on intra-household welfare.

André Leliveld

Educated as Development Economist, André Leliveld is currently senior researcher at the African Studies Centre in Leiden, the Netherlands. He specialized in studies on risk and poverty, and particularly studied the dynamics of informal insurance and social support systems, and more recently, community based insurance schemes. He conducted research in Swaziland and Uganda, and he is currently involved in research on community based health insurance in Togo. In his work he combines quantitative and qualitative methods, drawing on insights from developing economics, economic anthropology and political economy.

Dirk Reinhard

Dirk Reinhard, Vice Chairman of the Munich Re Foundation, has worked for Munich Re since 2001. Up until his move to the Munich Re Foundation in 2004, he worked in Geo Risks Research/Environmental Management as an expert on sustainable investment and emissions trading. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Microinsurance Network and chairman of the Steering Committee of the International Microinsurance Conference.
