Albert Douma wins Beta PhD Award 2009

During the Beta Conference 2009 'Societal Challenges for Operations Management' the Beta PhD Prize 2009 was awarded to dr.ir. Albert Douma. The Beta PhD Prize is awarded to the PhD who defended the best PhD thesis of Beta during the past year. The winner receives a certificate, a Beta PhD Award plaque and a cash prize of € 500,-.

Prize winner Albert Douma did his PhD research at the School of Management and Governance of the University of Twente. Albert Douma successfully defended his dissertation Aligning the operations of barges and terminals through distributed planning on December 9, 2008. The work was supervised by prof.dr.ir. J.H.A. de Smit and dr. P.C. Schuur.
