Notebook offer from the UT

Every year in the summer, the UT has a number of notebooks on offer at interesting prices for all (prospective) students of the UT. A choice of several notebooks is offered at a low price. For a number of study programmes at the UT, a specific model has been selected based on the demands this study programme makes on students. In this way you can be assured of a work station that optimally supports you in your studies.

The notebooks are supplied via the ICTS Notebook Service Centre. More information can be found on the website section of the NSC.

Using the UT-net with your notebook

To use the UT-net, your laptop must be registered with SNT. Click on the link “Register laptop with the UT” at the bottom of this page. The SNT can be reached: SNT Helpdesk, Horstring West 130, openings hours: 10.00-17.00 hrs., telephone (053) - 489 3266, e-mail: helpdesk@snt.utwente.nl, website http://www.snt.utwente.nl.

After your notebook has been registered, you can use the fixed network from different places at the UT. Special notebook work stations have been installed in the Vrijhof and in various faculties. Here, you can connect your laptop to the UT-net via a cable.

Wireless access via eduroam

The UT provides wireless Internet (eduroam) access in the UT zone within the buildings and to a great extent, outside the buildings as well. Every student or member of staff of a higher education institution in the Netherlands can use it. More information about eduroam can be found via the section all manuals.

To access the UT-network, you can use a so-called VPN-link.

More information about VPN can be found via the section all manuals.

Access via the ICT-account

Via the UT network, various UT (web) applications can be accessed.

For most of these applications, you need to log in to the so-called ICT account.

More information about ICT-account can be found via the section all manuals.
