iPhone and iPad update to IOS 6.1.2.

UPDATE 20-02-2013:

“iPhone and iPad’ update to IOS 6.1.2.”

In the updates of the IOS 6.1 and 6.1.2 operating system for Apple iPhones and iPads a calendar bug has been found which causes extremely high network activity and battery use. Also this bug causes serious disruptions of Exchange mail servers by many companies/establishments.

If you have installed version 6.1 or 6.1.1 on your device, we advise you to install version 6.1.2. on your IOS device as soon as possible.

Original message

Because of a bug in the latest versions of Apple’s operating system for IPhones and Ipads, many companies/establishments are suffering serious disruptions of Exchange mail servers.

In most cases they have blocked the access of iOS 6.1 and iOS 6.1.1 devices.

Despite the fact that, in a certain situation, these devices place too much of a load on the Exchange mail servers, we have not yet been forced to take such action.

The Exchange servers of the UT are less susceptible to this problem, however are being actively monitored. If we see a user causing a problem, we will, for the time-being, take action on an individual basis against this user. An individual block can be implemented and we would contact this user.

If, after the last update, you as an Apple user are suffering from warm batteries which run down too quickly, there is a high possibility that this is caused by this bug. There is a work-around for this on the Apple website http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4532.

We advise that the updates of the Apple devices to iOS 6.1 are not performed. However, the update from iOS 6.1 to 6.1.1 can be performed as, even though this won’t resolve the problem, it won’t make it any worse.

It is not yet known when Apple will release a correct update.
