ICT at your work station

Introduction

As a member of staff on the UT you have various information and communication technology (ICT) resources available to you at your work station. These resources make it possible to carry out (part of) your daily work. We are often more dependent on the proper functioning of this equipment than we realize.

On this website, you will find documentation and information about all these ICT resources. If you have any questions or problems, this will hopefully help you to quickly resolve them.

Work station

By "ICT at your work station" we mean all information-processing and communications equipment at your 'fixed work station'. Naturally, this is your PC or notebook at work and your fixed telephone, with its own internal phone number comprising four digits.

Wireless network (eduroam)

However, nowadays many people take their notebooks along to locations outside the UT. At that moment, their work station is where they are. Or they have a PC at home that (with support from the faculty) functions as a home work station.

Furthermore, an increasing number of people have a Smartphone/PDA, with which they remain accessible while travelling and can consult their E-mail or calendar.

PC-Room

Finally, there are the PC-room work stations in the university library in the Vrijhof, which can be used during research work there, for example. All these resources thereby constitute components of a 'mobile work station', and are likewise included in the concept 'ICT at your work station'.
