1. |
Check via Start > Computer if the network drives are there. |
These are the M: (My Documents), P: (Projects) and U: (UT) drives.

2. |
If you created a backup of the local data of your previous workstation, you need to transfer those to your computer. |
If you made your backup using the Data Migration Tool, your backup will be located at \\ad.utwente.nl\ut\Tempstorage.
This is also where you find the corresponding Restore Tool to transfer the backed up files to their new destinations.
Double click \\ad.utwente.nl\ut\Tempstorage\RestoreTool.hta to start the restore.
Transfer personal data to the M: drive.
Data shared with others for a project to the P: drive.
The U: drive is dedicated to documents relevant to the whole UT community.
Your backup will be automatically and definitely deleted after 28 days!
On your workstation you will find a second local drive, D:. You can store local data here, but you are responsible for backups of this drive yourself.
Don’t store data on the C: drive. This drive is reserved for the operating system and application programs.

WHERE ARE MY APPLICATIONS? |
Almost all applications that you need have been installed already on your UT-workstation. They are accessible in Start Menu > All Programs and its subdirectories.
INSTALLING EXTRA APPLICATIONS |
If you are one of the few employees in your faculty or group who need a certain application, it is possible that this application has not been installed yet. You can install it yourself, following these steps:
Step 1: open ZENWorks
· |
Go to Start > All Programs > Novell ZENworks > ZENworks Application Window |

Step 2: look for the application you need in the ZENworks Window
· |
With the ZENworks window open, to the left you find multiple categories; the applications you can install are in the UT-FLEX category. |

· |
Look for the application within that category |
· |
Double click the application in order to install it. |
Step 3: installation process
· |
After you double clicked the icon, it will change; it will show a green arrow indicating the application is being downloaded. |

· |
After the download, the actual installation starts. |

This window will close when the installation is complete.
