Wireless network (eduroam) Windows 7 / Vista
INTRODUCTION
If you wish to make use of the wireless network of the UT (eduroam) it is necessary to install SecureW2 on the computer. After installing SecureW2 eduroam can be configured.
BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

The manual is written for Windows 7 and Windows Vista; a separate manual is available for Windows XP. |
· |
When working through the manual, you will frequently have to perform operations. A specific style of writing is used for these instructions: references to text and buttons on screens are printed in italics, data that you have to enter yourself is printed in bold. |

Make sure that you have local administrator rights. If you do not have these, contact your system administrator. |
· |
Make sure that your wireless network card is switched on. |
INSTALL SECUREW2
Step 1: Download SecureW2

Download SecureW2 for Windows XP, Vista en Windows 7 via the link at the bottom of the page. |
Step 2: Install SecureW2
· |
Execute the installer. SecureW2 will install automatically. |

Step 3: Unplug your network cable

To set up your network connection you will have to disconnect from any wired networks. Unplug the network cable if it is still connected to your notebook. |
CONFIGURE EDUROAM
Step 4: configure eduroam
· |
A message will appear at the bottom right saying Additional information is needed to connect eduroam. |
· |
Click the notification balloon. |

Step 5: provide user credentials
· |
A screen is now being displayed for SecureW2. |
· |
Under Username enter your temporary/student/employee number (i.e. t0123456, s0123456 or m0123456) and @institution for example m123456@utwente.nl, 123456@saxion.nl of name@itc.nl. |

Under Password: enter the password that corresponds with your ICT-account. |
· |
Tick Save user credentials. |
· |
Click OK. |
· |
The connection will start automatically. |
