Basis for the house style

The University of Twente introduced its new house style at the opening of the 2009-2010 Academic Year. It is the visual embodiment of RoUTe’14, our strategic campaign to reposition ourselves on the market.

The University of Twente stands for knowledge of people and technology. High tech with a human touch. Teaching and research that matter. New technology as the driving force for change, renewal and progress in society.

To us, entrepreneurship comes as second nature. The campus is home to around 100 businesses, including student-run businesses. The University of Twente has also generated more than 700 successful spin-off companies. Our business park Kennispark Twente encourages and assists entrepreneurs to start new companies.

There’s always plenty going on within our wonderful green campus. It’s a lively, inspiring environment for 8,500 students and 3,000 employees. Our sports and cultural facilities are unique and we host events such as the world’s largest student think-tank, Create Tomorrow. The largest student sports event in the Netherlands, the Batavieren Race, is a familiar fixture on the Twente campus. The campus is a hive of activity – a truly inspirational place to be!

The University of Twente, the enterprising university.

This is what the University of Twente stands for and – with the help of our new house style – it will form the basis for a stronger public profile. Our enterprising spirit sets us apart from the rest. The thinking behind our new house style is explained in a set of principles.
