What is a confidential adviser?
The University of Twente has four staff that alongside their usual duties provide confidential advice to staff and students. These confidential advisers provide indivdual support to staff and students who are subjected to undesirable behaviour (e.g. harassment, sexual harassment, aggression, violence, discrimination) and staff who are dealing with workplace conflicts. The confidential advisers have the authority to collect relevant information as considered reasonably necessary to enable them to understand the nature and extent of problems reported at the University.
Students who are subjected to undesirable behavior can receive support from the student advisers or counselors instead of the confidential advisers, e.g. for problems with education programmes and relations with staff. For more information see the student dean site.
