Leave in connection to civil service organisations

The University of Twente’s consultation on employment conditions and the legal status between the Executive Board and the OPUT is referred to as local consultation. Various staff members are active in and for this consultation. In order to perform these activities, there is the possibility of extraordinary leave. For attending meetings of public servants organisations, management activities, courses and committees for consultation extraordinary leave with retention of salary can be granted.

The faculty or service department grants the leave after application by the public servants organisation concerned. For staff members who are a member or deputy member of the OPUT, the unit for which he or she has been appointed will receive a compensation from the University of Twente for the hours they are active in the context of this membership.
