Reorganisation programme

The University of Twente is constantly in motion. This means that the organisation is regularly faced with changes. Sometimes these are just small adjustments, but large ones take place as well: reorganisations.

In order to create a structure as to the way in which reorganisations should proceed, the University of Twente has a reorganisation code in place. This reorganisation code comprises among other things general guidelines for a reorganisation plan, and a broad description of the decision-making procedure and the role of the parties involved. The reorganisation code is a generic document that offers a solution for the diversity of issues an organisation is faced with. For this reason the reorganisation code does not lay down to the last detail how a reorganisation should proceed. The procedure overview found in the reorganisation code serves as a starting point for future reorganisations. Per reorganisation it is looked into which concrete steps are to be taken.

The reorganisation code is applicable in the following situations:

·

termination of the activities of the university or a major part thereof;

·

a major trimming down, extension or other change in the activities of the university or an essential part thereof;

·

a major change in the organisation of the university or an essential part thereof;

·

a major change in the division of competences, entering into, changing or breaking off a long-term collaboration with another company or organisation, in so far as this has far-reaching consequences for a large number of persons working at the university;

·

a major change or termination of the university or an essential part thereof for economic reasons.

The reorganisation code is not applicable in case of changes to day-to-day operations. Such changes normally have no consequences for personnel, or only for very few staff members.
