UT Closing dates

The University of Twente is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, and on:

New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, 30 April and 5 May; |

The collective days on which the university is closed (so-called bridge days), which are determined in consultation with the Consultation Body Personnel Matters University of Twente (OPUT). Usually these are the Friday after Ascension Day and the days between Christmas Day and the turn of the year. |

The collective days on which the university is closed are deducted from the holiday leave. In consultation with the faculty or service department part-time employees may make up for the collective days on which the university is closed in another way, for example by working longer on several other days.
If you are ill during the collective days on which the university is closed, the hours of leave involved will lapse.
Employees who have to work on days on which the University of Twente is closed, in return for this receive leave at a different time.
